It rained for three days straight. This is one intersection near my house. The water here was only shin deep, but it some places it was waist deep and people were boating around. I didn't get very far, but I did make it to the market so that I could eat dinner.

This was one of the few forms of transportation that could make it in the flood (no motor to be ruined). Some of the buses were still able to run their routes/partial routes, but they came very sporadically.

People trying to get somewhere, anywhere, just so as not to be stuck inside all day.

Slops up! The pigs looked bigger in person.

After dinner these villagers lined up to watch the view. Maybe some locals were finally appreciating the beauty they live in. Of course it also helps that we helped them with chores so that they could have that little extra time.

Awestruck in Asia goes to America

After a year and nine months without returning to America, I finally took the plunge, though not for long. I went to the USA for three days so that I could attend my cousins wedding, see my whole family, and meet my nephew. Though 9 flights in 6 days was a little crazy, it was well worth it! I was afraid that it would be weird, but I fit right back in to my family. And, when it was over, I was so ready to come back home (my Asian home that is).

A picture of me with Mark. It will be a while before we take another one of those. We were outside of a Quiznos where we had just eaten lunch. It was yummy!

This is at the wedding reception. I got to dance with my nephew Mark. We just met and I think he likes me.

Before the rehearsal dinner my mother decided that all of the girls needed a picture in front of the flowers. And we all coordinated so nicely.

This is the family. Of course he snapped the picture right as I was telling Mark to look at the camera. I don't know what my mom's excuse is for not looking at the camera.
